New iPad Air 2 not only bends, it breaks when applied pressure

Listen to article

While the iPhone 6 Plus had bendgate, German YouTube user Marvin Macht tried applying the same test to his new Apple iPad Air 2. The result is far worse compared to the phablet.

The newly-announced iPad Air 2 has an A8X 64-bit processor, a new 8MP f/2.2 camera, and apparently a chassis that easily breaks. Now, we understand that tablets aren’t designed to be bended on purpose (the guy who did it most probably knew about it too) but some of us just wants and most importantly, can afford to do it. So for your viewing pleasure here’s the iPad Air 2 ready for its bend test.

In the video above, the owner of the iPad Air 2 just uses his bare hands to try and apply pressure to the tablet. It doesn’t bend even a little bit but instead, the display shatters and its body folds in half – we bet you cringed just like we did while watching the 1-minute video.

You now know what NOT to do with your iPad Air 2.

Might be a good idea for all iPad users to do the same.

I’m not an apple user either, but you have to be an idiot to not take care of you’re expensive gadgets for them to break or bend like that. And lol at all the fanboys from either camp. Of course apple users are going to defend their gadgets, and android owners I don’t get if they don’t use apple why they are so concerned, albeit happy, that other people’s gadgets are more fragile than theirs. Only lesson to be taken from here should be: TAKE CARE OF YOUR EXPENSIVE GADGETS. /rant

I’m not an Iphone user or fan of ‘bended phone’ but I question the guy’s purpose in bending the Ipad. I think that the guy just want his 1 minute fame, or worst he is from Apple’s enemy camp. Deliberately bending the Ipad that way is beyond the norm. My laptop will not survive if I bend the screen at 360 degrees. It will be stupid of me to try bending it, you agree?
Don’t kick the enemy when he is down, the bended Iphone and the loose Icloud security problems are enough for Apple right now.

As usual, apple users would automatically say “everything breaks when applied with enough pressure!” Haha

indeed everything has its breaking point. they are not selling apple devices for it not to break but mostly because of its features. like its 2 core processor and quad graphic processors + its optimized software can’t be matched by androids octacore and its graphic processor. that is when it comes to overall gaming experience(graphic/color/lag). try it and see for yourself

No one beats apple when it comes to optimization of hardware using their own software.

@Ed No dude. Just stop the apple fanboyism. Haha. I don’t give a shit about that optimization crap you guys keep telling like a broken record.

Apple’s version of a flexible display. Lol. #breakgate. I bet there is a fragile label on the box of the ipad.

“It doesn’t bend even a little bit but instead, ” Could you do a little proofreading?

Now this has gotten too far. Everything has a breaking point of course if you apply enough force. I can break my laptop in half. LED TV screens too. Heck, I can even wreck my car if I push on the accelerator hard enough while heading straight to a wall. There is an easy way to prevent damages to your stuff and that is not trying to in the first place.
