DITO recently revealed their new promos which come with unlimited data and other inclusions. However, how does it compare to GOMO’s promo for the same price? Let’s do a quick breakdown.
For this quick comparison, we’re going to look at DITO’s UNLI 499 and GOMO’s UNLI DATA 499 promos.

When it comes to speed, DITO offers a “high-speed” connection for the first 2GB. Meaning, it will provide you with uncapped speeds until you consume the 2GB, but it refreshes daily, so you’ll get that again the next day. Do note that “high-speed” depends on your location, so if you’re getting more than 5Mbps, then good, if not, there’s not much you can do. Once you’ve consumed 2GB (that’s approximately 2 hours of Standard definition streaming on Netflix), your speed will be capped at 5Mbps.
GOMO, on the other hand, advertises that the speed is capped at 5Mbps. However, having been a subscriber of GOMO’s unli data promos, I noticed that it doesn’t strictly implement that limit. There were times that we’re getting up to 30Mbps in off-peak hours, then goes back to 5Mbps during peak.

DITO has the advantage in terms of calls and SMS inclusions. If people you mostly contact are already on DITO, you can enjoy the unli calls. Even if they’re not on DITO, 5 hours’ worth of calls to other networks is still huge. However, you have to remember that DITO only works on VoLTE capable phones. SMS, on the other hand, is unlimited to all networks.
Both promos are valid for 30 days. DITO’s promo runs from June 12 to 18, 2021. GOMO, on the other hand, runs from June 10 to 12, 2021, but regularly offers this promo monthly. We’ll see if DITO makes it a monthly thing as well.

If you’re asking which one to get? I advise picking the network with a stable signal and speed. If DITO already works in your area, and your device, and need the calls and SMS inclusion, get the DITO UNLI 499. On the other hand, GOMO, which rides on Globe’s network has more reach. If Globe is good in your area, get the GOMO UNLI DATA 499.
