Samsung unveils its own “True Octa-core” processor

MediaTekが世界初の「True Octa-core」プロセッサを発表し、Samsungのチップを激しく批判してからほぼ2か月後、韓国企業が復活し、HMPテクノロジーを搭載したリニューアル版Exynos 5で復讐に挑んでいます。

前回のビルドとは異なり、Samsungが新たに発表した ARM ベースの SoC は、ヘテロジニアス・マルチプロセッシングと呼ばれるソリューションのおかげで、8 つのプロセッサコアすべてを活用できるようになりました。

The engine still follows the same big.LITTE setup which consist four Cortex-A15 processors (big) and a quartet of Cortex-A7 (LITTLE) chips. Based on the task at hand, Samsung’s new HMP-equipped processor can either fire on all cylinders or go mellow and let the little ones handle simple tasks.

Samsungによると、新しく改良されたExynos 5 Octa Socは今年の第4四半期にデビューする予定です。
