Apple is making it easier to switch eSIMs between iPhone and Android with a new feature in iOS 26. Some users on the latest iOS beta have spotted a new option under cellular settings called “Transfer to Android,” which lets users move their eSIM to an Android phone without having to go through their carrier.

This feature appears to work both ways. When setting up an eSIM on an iPhone running iOS 26, there’s also a “Transfer From Android” option. Selecting it shows a QR code that can be scanned with an Android phone to begin the process, similar to how the iPhone-to-Android transfer works.
The update seems to be part of a joint effort between Apple and Google. Earlier this year, a beta version of Android 16 mentioned a similar “Transfer to Android” function, suggesting the two tech giants are working on making eSIM transfers more convenient across platforms.
Until now, transferring an eSIM from iPhone to Android usually required contacting a carrier to get a new QR code. With iOS 26, Apple may be removing that extra step. though it’s worth noting the feature may not be available on all carriers just yet.
