5 Best Features of the Redmi Note 7

The Redmi Note 7 has been the talk of our readers and even some of my friends in social media ever since it was launched in China. The reason behind this is mainly due to its shockingly good specs-to-price ratio. Today, let me discuss to you the 5 best features of this device. Let’s start!

Great display configuration

The Redmi Note 7 comes with a 6.3-inch 19.5:9 Full HD+ IPS display which is already great for watching videos or movies. To top it all off, its screen is equipped with a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 so if ever you’re a clumsy person and accidentally drops this phone face-first, you won’t have to worry that much if it has cracks or any damage.

Good performance

Among the appealing specs of this device is the Snapdragon 660 chipset and 6GB of RAM. Tasks such as browsing, social media posting, multi-tasking, file transferring, or even running light-to-moderate games will be easy. For mobile gamers out there, this one is probably one of my recommended phones to get without spending too much money.

USB Type-C

When checking the specs of a smartphone, people tend to look at the USB port of the device and it’s a no go for some if it features micro USB. Fortunately, the Redmi Note 7 is now equipped with a USB Type-C port which mainly delivers faster file transfer speed rates.

Large battery capacity with fast charging

Aside from having a USB Type-C, the 4,000mAh battery with QuickCharge 4.0 is definitely a sight for sore eyes for a lot of people.

Appealing price point

Lastly, when the Redmi Note 7 was announced, I personally got shocked with how its pricing went down. Here are the prices of each variant:

• 3GB + 32GB – CNY 999 (~PHP 7,675)
• 4GB + 64GB – CNY 1,199 (~PHP 9,211)
• 6GB + 64GB – CNY 1,399 (~PHP 10,748)

Now, who wouldn’t want to buy this phone right? Even I would get tempted to get one.

After reading up to the last best feature that I listed, I know what you’re thinking – “WHERE’S THE FRICKIN 48MP REAR CAMERA?!”. Well, the Redmi Note 7 may have a 48MP lens but it uses the Samsung GM1 sensor, which is just basically an interpolated 12MP shooter. Another thing to note is that the Snapdragon 660 chipset only supports up to 25MP single or 16MP dual cameras. You can also check out Qualcomm’s official website to see this information. Don’t worry though, as Redmi stated that they will be releasing a true 48MP rear camera but this time, it will be powered by a Sony IMX486 sensor. My educated guess would be that the upcoming variant will have a different chipset in order to support the camera.
