    some features in Windows phone 7 is missing. . I can buy a decent laptop with that price.

    Is the SRP here correct? Another blog is reporting that its actually just P34777, and not P36900.

    Windows phones are still a gamble these days due to the OS-specific limitations (tied to Zune, no bluetooth FTP, copy&paste, etc.). You are tied to the update promised by Microsoft to address these issues.

    If your looking for a better experience with Windows 7, I would recommend the Samsung Omnia 7 w/c comes with an AMOLED screen, compact metallic body, and the best 8MP camera on a windows phone out there. Next in line is the LG Optimus 7 which also has a great build quility.

    Cons for HTC HD 7: poor battery life, mediocre LCD display, metallic build but wait until you open the (plastic) hatches that will eventually become ill-fitting (so much about quality).

    Samsung Omnia 7…

    @oblivier:
    with almost no multi-tasking support, that’s really a no-brainer.

    According to reviews, battery life of WP7 phones are generally better than Android phones.

    Who the hell would buy that?? A windows phone that uses the previous generation snapdragon. The Desire HD comes with the newer snapdragon and is priced cheaper. Both have the same tiny 1230mah battery so the HD7 won’t even be able to claim better battery life. The only thing this has that the DHD doesn’t is that it comes with 16gb/32gb storage out of the box. But that doesn’t mean much when you can buy a transcend 16gb microSD for around 1600. So, why, oh, why would anyone want this?

    @Micks

    The same with laptops selling with pre-installed windows os.

    Why are Windows phones more expensive that the Android ones? Is there some sort of premium for not having the capability to CUT AND PASTE?

  15. Avatar for Fleeb Fleeb says:

    @jhovari, yes HTC admitted to that – something like premiums on top of their phone.
