Instagram Introduces Fundraising, Shopping from Creators features

Among the newest innovations and features announced at the F8 2019 developer conference, Instagram will implement a fundraising feature, as well as, the option to shop from creators.

First up is the ability to shop from creators. Users will be able to buy products with regards to art, fashion, music, and entertainment without leaving the app. Public figures, artists, entrepreneurs, publishers, and other creators can put price tags on the products of their posts along with the details in the caption. This feature will roll out to a small group of creators next week with the plans to expand over an indefinite time.

Next, users can raise money for a nonprofit directly on Instagram by placing a donation sticker in their Stories. 100% of the money raised on the platform will be going to the nonprofit organization that you are supporting. It’s only available in the US at the moment but it will be rolled out to more countries in the coming weeks.

Instagram will also be implementing a new camera design including a feature called “Create Mode” where users can easily share without any photos or videos. Effects and interactive stickers will are said to be easier to use here.

All of the said features will be implemented in the coming weeks except for the fundraising one that is already available in the US. Check out the full keynote speech of the F8 2019 here:
