Premium build and body

The device comes with precision-machined, aerospace-grade aluminum bands along with an IP67 rating. This makes it one tough cookie in terms of build quality. Not to mention it also comes with a glass back.

Liquid Retina Display

The iPhone XR comes with an all-new Liquid Retina display with a size of 6.1-inches and a resolution of 1792 x 828. Now, that may not sound very high in resolution but considering Apple‘s retina technology, images are sure to come out crisp and clear. Add that to the fact that the new display tech comes with wide color gamuts, improved color accuracy, and automatic white balance adjustments.

A12 Bionic Chipset

The iPhone XR isn’t left out in the performance game as like it’s Xs and Xs Max siblings, it comes with the new A12 Bionic chipset. The new chip with a 6-core CPU and a 4-core GPU boasts 50% faster performance than the previous A11. It also has an 8-core Neural Engine with support for dedicated Machine Learning and a Smart Compute System.

Machine Learning assisted Cameras

The XR may not have the dual-rear camera setup of its brethren but it still has the help of Machine Learning. As such, its single 12MP rear camera still has all the bells and whistles the other two has when it comes to software. This means it still has Portrait Mode with sophisticated bokeh effects, Smart HDR and Depth Control.

TrueDepth camera system

Like its siblings and predecessor, the XR features a TrueDepth camera system which includes the 7MP RGB f/2.2 front camera and Face ID. Portrait mode with Depth Control is also available on the TrueDepth front camera, which includes features like Memoji and faster face tracking support for third-party ARKit apps.

6 Colorful and Funky variants

The iPhone XR is probably the funkiest iPhone to date thanks to its multiple color options. This is the first time since the 5C that we’re seeing so many colors for an iPhone. There are 6 color variants to choose from — Red, Yellow, White, Coral, Black, and Blue.
