Apple iPhone Xs, Xs Max officially unveiled

Apple has officially announced their most advanced iPhones to date, the iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max.

The iPhone Xs (Ten-S) and Xs Max almost have the same specs except for some minor differences like screen size and resolution, and battery. The Xs has a 5.8-inch screen with 2436 x 1125 resolution or 458ppi, while the XS Max has 6.5-inch with 2688 x 1242 resolution or 458ppi. Both have Super Retina OLED displays, 120Hz touch sensing, True Tone, 3D Touch, Tap to wake, and support for Dolby Vision HDR 10.

The devices sport surgical-grade stainless steel with IP68 water and dust resistance and come in gold, silver, and space gray. Other key features include Face ID; stereo speakers; up to 512GB storage; dual 12MP (Wide-angle f/1.8 1.4um + Telephoto f/2.4 w/ 2x optical zoom) rear cameras with OIS, Portrait mode with Depth Control, and Truetone flash; and the TrueDepth camera system which includes the 7MP RGB f/2.2 front camera.

Powering it is iOS 12 and Apple’s new A12 Bionic chip which is manufactured using the 7nm process. It has a 6-core CPU with Fusion architecture consisting of 2 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores, a 4-core GPU which is 50% faster than the A11, and an 8-core Neural Engine with support for Dedicated Machine Learning and Smart Compute System.

When it comes to connectivity, the Xs and Xs Max supports Gigabit Class LTE, Dual-SIM Dual-Standby (DSDS) with e-SIM technology, and Bluetooth 5.0. For the battery, the Xs claims 30 minutes more battery life compared to the X, and 1.5 hours more for the XS Max.
