Motorola has introduced its bendable smartphone concept at Lenovo Tech World 2023. It uses a flexible pOLED adaptive display technology and can bend around your wrist as a wearable accessory.

In a series of videos 16, the concept phone can lay flat and bend backwards. And can stand in various positions. It can also snap onto a person’s wrist and act as a bracelet.

Its UI also seems to adapt depending on how the screen is oriented and bent. Motorola claims that wearing the flexible device on your wrist provides a comparable experience to the razr+ and its 3.6-inch cover screen, running full Android apps.

The brand has yet to share its tech specs, but so far, it has a 6.9-inch Full HD+ display with significantly thick bezels all around. And at the back, it uses fabric to conceal its noticeable material linings where the bending occurs.

It also has ‘MotoAI’ feature onboard that allows the user to personalize its theme. For example, a user can capture a photo of their outfit and the phone suggests AI-generated images to set as wallpaper.

On X (formerly Twitter), JerryRigEverything humorously quoted, “My entire career is over,” on a repost of the Motorola concept phone. He is known for testing the durability of smartphones by bending them at their core.

With this new form factor from Motorola, he may have to explore alternative methods for testing the durability of such bendable smartphones (at least from the back panel).

As of writing, no details yet on whether they plan to release a bendable smartphone to the public. Stay tuned for updates!
