vivo has introduced the Android 14-based Origin OS 4 with added features, revamped design, and improved performance.

Vivo Origin Os 4 Fi1

While vivo confirmed FuntouchOS 14 based on Android 14 for eligible global units, the Origin OS 4 will only cover its home market in China.

Its new features include the new “Blue Heart Jr V”—an AI-powered assistant—along with ‘Family Health’ that tracks other smart devices within your family through a widget.

On the visual side, the new iteration includes over 2,000 redesigned icons. A new typeface called ‘vivo Sans’ is implemented across the entire system.

Certain UI interactions now utilize real-time blurring or glass effect. And deploy more personalization features such as contextual wallpapers and lock screen customization.

Performance-wise, through its “virtual graphics card”, the Origin OS 4 now has faster app response time. This boosts frame rate stability by up to 70% and reduces launching and closing times of apps by up to 36%.

Vivo Origin Os 4 New Feature

vivo explains that, as the OS prioritizes on-screen tasks, its CPU and GPU can allocate more resources while blocking ‘irrelevant calculations.’

Initially eligible devices are X Fold 2, X Flip, the X90 series, and iQOO 11 series. Seeding of Origin OS 4 to these devices commences by year-end.

Meanwhile, the vivo X100 and iQOO 12 series on the horizon will run the new OS pre-installed.
