Amazon Echo Show 15 now official

Amazon has unveiled its latest addition to the Echo Show lineup, the Echo Show 15.

The Echo Show 15 sports a 15.6-inch 1080p Full HD display and can be mounted on a wall or placed on a counter. In addition, the device is equipped with the Amazon AZ2 Neural Edge processor, a redesigned home screen with more customization options, new personalization features with visual ID, and a new Alexa experience.

With its Amazon AZ2 Neural Edge processor, a machine learning (ML) inference engine with a quad-core scalable architecture, and 22x more TOPS (trillions of operations per second), the device is capable of processing speech recognition and cal also process computer vision (CV) workloads in parallel.

Additionally, its new visual ID feature can recognize users and personalize the on-screen information on the Echo Show 15. If children are enrolled for the visual ID, the home screen of the Echo Show 15 will shift and display age-appropriate content. To learn more about the development of the visual ID, click here.

Alongside its 15.6-inch screen, the device is equipped with a 5MP camera and microphone that can be used for video calls. In terms of privacy, the visual ID is optional and requires explicit enrollment, but if users choose to do so, they can delete their visual ID profile at any time.
