Listen to article

American tech giants, Apple and Google, collaborate to help governments and public health agencies around the world reduce the spread of coronavirus.

The companies are now developing a contact-tracing platform backed up by Bluetooth technology for easier detection and containment of the disease. More robust that APIs, it will allow participants to contribute data and interact with an ecosystem of apps from government health agencies without compromising data security.

Both companies will also roll out official and secured mobile apps from public health authorities that are compatible with both Android and iOS devices for free. Available on their respective apps in May 2020, this initiative makes the app more user-friendly and intuitive.
