Apple’s next-generation in-car system, CarPlay Ultra, is expected to expand to more vehicle brands in 2026, after being limited to select luxury models since its launch.

Currently, CarPlay Ultra is only available in newer Aston Martin vehicles, but Apple has already confirmed plans to bring the system to more automakers, including Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis.
Reports suggest that at least one new Hyundai or Kia model could adopt CarPlay Ultra in the second half of the year, signaling a wider rollout beyond the luxury segment.
CarPlay Ultra introduces deeper integration between the iPhone and the vehicle, going beyond traditional infotainment systems. It can take over the instrument cluster and display real-time vehicle data such as speed, fuel levels, tire pressure, and engine status.

The system also supports built-in controls for functions like climate settings, radio, and rear-view camera feeds, all within a unified interface. Apple says the experience is customizable, allowing automakers to tailor the design to match their brand identity.
However, not all car manufacturers are on board. Companies like BMW, Ford, and Rivian have shown less interest in adopting CarPlay Ultra, while General Motors has already moved away from supporting Apple CarPlay in its newer electric vehicles.
As more brands begin to adopt the system, CarPlay Ultra is expected to play a bigger role in shaping the future of in-car software and connected driving experiences.
