Apple is reportedly planning to let Siri work with more third-party AI chatbots in its future update, according to a new report. The change is expected to arrive with iOS 27, which may be announced on June 8.

The update could allow users to choose which AI service Siri will use when it cannot answer a question. Right now, Siri can pass questions to ChatGPT if needed. With the reported change, users may be able to select other AI apps instead, as long as those apps support Siri integration.
The report came from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who is known for sharing early details about Apple’s plans. He said Apple is working on a system where AI apps can connect to Siri through extensions. This means Siri will act as a gateway, sending requests to different AI services chosen by the user.
Apple is also expected to earn from these AI services through subscriptions on the App Store. This suggests the company may move away from exclusive deals, like its current setup with OpenAI for ChatGPT.
The update may also include a more advanced version of Siri powered by AI. However, Apple has not yet confirmed these plans, and details may still change before the official announcement.
