At CES 2019, ASUS announced the latest iterations for the ROG Strix Scar II and Hero II gaming laptops. The new variants of Strix SCAR II (GL504GW) and Hero IIÂ (GL504GV) come with NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics.
The Strix SCAR II has two display options, the 15.6″ variant (GL504GW) and the 17″ configuration (GL704GW). The main upgrade is that both are powered by an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 processor.
The GL504GW has two options, Intel Core i7-8750H or Intel Core i5-8300H processors, while the GL704GW only has an Intel Core i7-8750H processor variant. Storage-wise, both new variants feature 256GB/512GB/1TB SSD. The latest iteration retains the slim form factor of the previous one, as well as its backlit RGB keyboard.
The Strix Hero II (GL504GV) also gets an upgrade in terms of graphics card with the new iteration sporting an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060.
The Hero II GL504GV maintains its Intel Core i7-8750H processor but users also now have the option of running an Intel Core i5-8300H variant. It also features a 256GB/512GB/1TB SSD storage, backlit RGB keyboard, and two 1W speaker with Smart AMP technology.
Pricing and availability of the ASUS ROG Strix SCAR II and ASUS ROG Hero II are yet to be announced.
