It looks like the Nintendo Switch 2 might leak its way into the spotlight before the official reveal. While most details about the console have previously been shrouded in speculation, one recent leak is almost undeniable.
In a video 14 by @Numerama on X (formerly Twitter), accessories maker Genki showed off the first mockup of the Nintendo Switch 2 at CES 2025—highlighting its magnetic Joy-Cons in action.
The French post, which translates to “Prop maker Genki says he has the real console and displays a 3D model + accessories,” showcases a working model of the console, complete with a charging port and the magnetic controllers.
While Genki insists the console in question is a replica, let’s be real—the features and dimensions match way too closely on what to expect.
Genki also confirmed that the new Joy-Cons will feature an optical sensor, though there’s still uncertainty about the function of the mysterious “C Button.”
For those eager to see more, Genki has launched a dedicated website 31 for the Switch 2 accessories, where the mockups are now visible.
Furthermore, the video revealed hints about the Switch 2’s release window, with accessory makers teasing an April launch. Previously, Nintendo confirmed that the Switch 2 could come around March which is the same time the company’s fiscal year conclude.
And it’s not just Genki spilling the tea. Dbrand also showed off 26 a mockup of the console, and @NintyPrime shared 15 a thread on X with even more photos of what we can expect.
