iPhone SE 4, new iPads could launch in April –Gurman

Listen to article

Rumors from last year hinted that Apple’s iPhone SE 4 would debut likely around March 2025.

Now, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has dropped new details, revealing that the testing phase for both the iPhone SE 4 and iPad 11 is now underway—running iOS 18.3 and iPadOS 18.3.

This suggests that the upcoming devices will likely launch before the arrival of iOS 18.4 release—which features more Apple Intelligence features.

To recap the speculations, the iPhone SE 4 will reportedly feature a 6.1-inch OLED Super Retina XDR display (460 ppi). Its design is also expected to draw inspiration from the iPhone 14.

It will pack the latest A18 chip, derived from the iPhone 16 series, and includes Apple Intelligence. The device will also mark the first use of Apple’s own 5G modem.

Expect a 48MP rear camera and a 12MP front-facing camera (borrowed from the iPhone 15), though Apple will drop the ultra-wide lens. With a more efficient 3nm chip, the iPhone SE 4 will offer better battery life.

However, it remains unclear whether the phone will include 25W MagSafe charging like the iPhone 16.

Meanwhile, among the expected new iPads is the iPad 11. It will retain retain a 10.9-inch display, as well as the iPad Air-like design, adding new colors.

It will also equip the A18 chip, support Apple Intelligence, and come with a custom 5G modem.

Pricing for the iPhone SE 4 is expected to start at USD 500, with no 64GB model available—likely beginning at 128GB. And then, the iPad 11 should start at USD 349 for the 64GB version, matching the price of its predecessor.

25w charging and 60hz refresh rate is just terrible at that price range.
