DJI FPV now official

DJI has recently launched its first hybrid drone, the DJI FPV.

The DJI FPV combines the first-person view and high-speed performance of racing drones. It sports high-performance motors with a max speed of 140kph (87 mph) and a max acceleration of 0-100 kph (0-62 mph) in just two seconds. It offers a 10km transmission range, auto-switching dual-frequencies, a high bitrate of 50 Mpbs, and state-of-the-art anti-interference methods to ensure a reliable feed.

With the DJI FPV equipped with HD transmission technology, pilots can see a crystal-clear, long-range, low-latency feed from the DJI FPV aircraft while wearing the included DJI FPV Goggles V2.

The drone captures dynamic, cinematic footage with its integrated 4K/60fps 120 Mbps camera. The camera is on a single-axis gimbal, delivering stability during complex maneuvers while rotating vertically for different angles. Additionally, RockSteady stabilization technology smooths shaky footage and eliminates the rolling shutter effect when filming fast-moving scenes. Plus, the advanced distortion correction software can remove the warped and unappealing fish-eye look common in FPV footage. Besides, pilots can record footage in 4x Slow Motion in 1080p and 120 fps. However, footage can now be stored in H.265 or H.264 which uses less space on the memory card but maintains fine details during compression.

The DJI FPV The drone offers three intuitive flight modes: the Sport (S), Normal (N), and Manual (M) modes. The S mode combines the freedom of flying manually with the simplified controls of previous DJI drones, while the N mode is ideal for new users as it offers immersive flight with traditional drone flight controls along with DJI safety features. Lastly, the M mode enables complete, limitless control and the full FPV flight experience by allowing users to customize the drone’s parameters.

However, regardless of the mode, the DJI FPV includes an Emergency Brake and Hover feature, which can be engaged at any time, in any mode with the press of a button. A Return to Home feature also allows the drone to fly back to its home point either manually or when it loses connection. An ADB-S receiver will also warn pilots of any aircraft or helicopter in proximity.

Furthermore, the latest drone uses the latest version of the DJI Fly app, which now includes detailed tutorials on how to operate the DJI FPV. The newly developed DJI Virtual Flight App is a free simulator app that familiarizes new pilots with drone flying movements. The simulator allows pilots to fly the DJI FPV drone in various settings using the dedicated controller.

The DJI FPV Drone comes with a price tag of USD 1299. It includes the remote controller 2, FPV Goggles V2, cables, and a battery. The DJI FPV Fly More Kit is also available, which includes two additional Intelligent Flight Batteries and the dedicated charging hub for USD 299. The optional Motion Controller is also sold separately and can be purchased for USD 199.

Meanwhile, DJI FPV Drone is available at Altitude Digital for PHP 65,990.
