Globe is inching closer to their 2020 goal of deploying 2 million new broadband lines. The telco is now halfway through to accomplishing that number as they have reportedly already installed almost a million new broadband lines as of February 1, 2018.

As for their coverage, Globe was able to deploy fiber broadband in 12 cities in Metro Manila and in 19 provinces nationwide over the course of two years. Majority of their fiber coverage is located in Quezon City, Sta. Rosa, Calamba, Cebu, and Davao. Apart from this, they continue to deploy VDSL (very-high-bit-rate digital subscriber line) in major cities and provinces. 16 cities in Metro Manila and 18 other areas now have VDSL technology.
Globe is also looking to bolster their mobile coverage by deploying massive MIMO (multiple input, multiple output) technology. The telco began their commercial MIMO expansion in early 2017. All of these expansions by the telco are focused towards providing better broadband and mobile services by 2020.
