Huawei reportedly adopts its own version of Dynamic Island

The Dynamic Island feature was first introduced in Apple’s iPhone 14 series that utilized its pill-shaped notch design—allowing users to seamlessly see notifications, alerts, and other operations like music playback, maps navigation, and more.

That feature is said to be in the works with the upcoming Huawei nova lineup.

Huawei Central reported that the brand could launch its own version of the Dynamic Island and it’s expected to appear in Huawei nova 11 series.

They also showed an initial render of a nova 11 device, which had two camera lenses at the front, similar to the Huawei nova 10 Pro but the notch is now centered.

The Huawei nova 11 also sees an upgrade with the processor as it is expected to sport a Snapdragon 8 chipset, compared to the Snapdragon 778G from its predecessor.

It is also said to boast the new XMAGE camera technology of Huawei.

The news comes expected already as the iPhone first introduced the ‘notch’ way back 2017 with the iPhone X, and then the rest of Android OEMs adopted the similar design sometime after.

Thus, having a similar Dynamic Island feature in Android phones is more than possible to happen.

In fact, Xiaomi themes community developers showcased a similar approach just days after the iPhone 14 was released.

Dynamic Island was seen on a Xiaomi device using only a theme.

Do take this news with grain of salt as we have yet to hear from Huawei themselves. Stay tuned for updates.
