Jack Dorsey steps down from Twitter’s Board of Directors

Jack Dorsey’s time with Twitter has now officially come to a close with him leaving its board of directors.

It was only last November that Dorsey handed over the keys to Parag Agrawal as Twitter’s CEO with Dorsey remaining on the board to help in the transition until his term expires at the 2022 meeting of stockholders. However, now his term as a board member of Twitter has now come to an end on Wednesday’s shareholder meeting.

The news of Dorsey leaving Twitter’s board of directors comes at a stormy time for the company. With Elon Musk’s $44 billion deal to buy the company and news of it being on hold have caused turbulent times for Twitter with its stock price being influenced by all the news.

Dorsey has also made it clear that his time is up with Twitter and that he’ll not be coming back to be CEO. This would also mean that Dorsey can now refocus his attention on the cryptocurrency and blockchain space, which he has been strongly supportive of. As he still serves as the “Block Head” of his other company, Block, formerly known as Square.

With Dorsey now completely out of the picture for Twitter, how do you think this would go for the social media giant? Let us know your thoughts down below.
