Light Rider is the world’s first 3D-printed motorcycle

We’ve seen different 3D-printed products but this is the first time we feast our eyes on a motorcycle. Called the Light Rider, this electric machine only weighs 35 kilograms with aluminum as its base material.

APWorks is the company behind this creation. Using what they call a “Scalmalloy” which is custom aluminum alloy powder reported to have almost the strength of titanium, the Light Rider is formed by combining thin layers of these together. The firm mentions it could go for 80km/h with acceleration at 0-45km/h in 3 seconds. Power-wise, it has a swappable battery that could last you for 60km on a single charge.

Only 50 units of these will go on sale with an asking price of €50,000 (approx. Php2.6M) each. It’s a bit expensive but you’ll have the most unique bike on the road, that’s for sure.
