In 2009, we wrote a story about top IT companies to work for here in the Philippines. It’s one of the most highly engaged stories we’ve had with over a thousand comments. We wanted to update the same story but thought of involving our readers this time.
So we’re asking you to send in your nominations for our top 10 IT companies to work this 2012.
We’re partly inspired by Fortune’s annual list of best companies to work for.
We’ve already done our own research but wanted to expand the list first before publishing the story.
Our criteria revolves around the following factors:
â— Compensation – the higher the pay, the better right?
â— Perks and incentives – some companies offer additional monthly bonuses, free meals, transpo, day care for kids, scholarships, gym memberships, etc.
â— Flexibility – flexible office hours and work-from-home options
â— Employee Enhancement Programs – schooling, trainings, certifications, MBAs, etc.
â— Office environment – facilities, structural design, work spaces, workplace technology, etc.
We’ve pre-identified a few companies that are likely candidates and will be including them into the nominations.
International companies like Microsoft Philippines, HP Philippines, Intel Philippines, Oracle, Yahoo!, IBM Philippines, Emerson are on the shortlist. So are dev and consulting companies like ACS, Novare, Accenture, Logica.
There are a few more on our shortlist but we’ll let you send in your nominations and comments.
Go hit the comments and help us write this story!
Accenture is the best among rest i will travel far and wide searching for B-I-t-c-h ass homeboy to train them is my real task Accenture got catch them all :)
Good thing I saw this article, I’m currently looking for a job related to what I finished, ECE, and I want to work in the IT industry, now my problem is that before I graduated, I’m working for a good BPO company and stayed there for 3yrs now, since I want to change career and get back on track, I tried looking for an IT company but they keep pushing me into the BPO side of their organization.
Anyone here knows an IT company who would welcome a not so fresh grad but has an excellent comm skills and above average analytic skills? Pls refer me if you don’t mind
sa equitable masaya.. pure C doon,
may .net positions rin

Pointwest din!
Pointwest!
Pointwest – The best :)
I think what makes these companies the best is that simply because they respect and value their employees.
I second the motion about Safeway Manila. The people here are good. Work is not that toxic. We have platinum HMO cards. Okay rito!
i nominated yugatech networks. nice basic pay, and a whole lot of perks.
Yes Mr. Pogi I nominate too Synthesis Innovations, Inc. THE BEST!
Synthesis Innovations, Inc. :)
This is a great company to work for
starting salary is 13K
Visual Studio 2003 technology
Super greedy management
No leave (leaves are only applicable to Senior Devs and up, Juniors = no work no pay)
Recently the company just layed off 80% + Junior programmers
Are you only considering companies based in Manila?
I work for an IT company in Pampanga called TwistResources and I believe it’s one of the best companies here, if not THE best.
We have a great work environment plus bosses who are cool, innovative and down-to-earth. Our compensation package is at par with Manila rates. Below are some of our benefits:
* company trip once a year (local or abroad)
* free buffet lunch (yes, Mondays to Fridays!)
* pantry supplies (coffee, juice, biscuits, etc.)
* HMO
* yearly increase
We send employees out for external training as needed but we have a lot of talented, senior people that we can conduct our trainings in-house. No need to apply for promotions either. As long as you work hard and work well, the company will recognize your efforts.
Management also allows people to work from home. Our office hours are semi-flexi as well.
Need I say more?
Are you just looking for Manila IT companies?
I work for a Software Development company in Pampanga called TwistResources and I think it’s one of the best companies here, if not THE best.
We have a great work environment, the bosses are talented, innovative, cool and down-to-earth and compensation is at par with Manila rates. Aside from this, we get free lunch everyday, unlimited pantry supplies, free dinner in case of OT work, company trip once a year (local or abroad) plus the usual medical insurance and VL/SL credits.
External training can be done as needed but we have so many talented senior people that we can virtually learn everything in-house.
We also have semi-flexi office hours plusmanagement also allows employees to work from home from time to time.
Need I say more? :)
I worked with Deltek Systems (Philippines), Ltd. for 5 years. Back then the benefits are already good and the salary is above the industry average. I heard that the benefits and salary are better now. :) I left because I need to attend to our family business.
You can check out the curent job openings @ Jobstreet.

Yahoo and Microsoft maybe, not certain..
Pointwest Technologies Corporation
:)
I nominate Trend Micro Philippines (TrendLabs). The compensation may not be that high as other local IT companies offer but for fresh grads, it’s good enough.
When it comes to career growth, the company offer several programs that help and guide employees to track their career movements.
In terms of incentives and performance bonus, the company is generous enough to give the appropriate amount to deserving employees.
Lastly, the company is very serious in handling their employees. They offer certificate programs , trainings and even shoulder licensure exams to those deserving employees. The company has a heart as well to social service works such as participating in GK builds and other similar activities.
Hi fjordz. Are you working at trend micro? I want to apply at trend micro. i’m an ECE fresh grad. I hear that there is a good career growth in this company. Can you refer me?. you can email me at juanpaulo_****@****.*** thanks =D
Some companies like IBM and Accenture would offer lower base pay but would brag about benefits and stuff when they come out with offers to lure prospective employees, but here’s the catch, You as an employee is on the raw end of the deal when you accept a lower base pay with more benefits. Yes, your tax may be a bit lower because you have a lower base pay, but then, you stand to lose in the long run.
The first thing that would suffer is your market value, when you move over to another company. they would ask you how much your salary is. then they would most probably just add around 10k to your current salary, when they present their Job offer to you. You will miss out on your goal of reaching a certain salary grade by the time that you reach a certain age.
Two, those so-called benefits aren’t guaranteed most of the time & can be written-off by your employers quite easily, especially those allowances, if they are suffering in terms of revenue. Remember the financial crisis some time in 2009? :)
Anyway,
I got a chance to chat with someone from Safeway, he’s been interviewed for a remote desktop admin post at Fujitsu, why am I there? because I was interviewed as well, but for a different IT position.. LOL
Anyway, the guy said that the pay in Safeway is “ok”, but the work is toxic!
there’s only a few of them in their team and there’s always a deluge of problem tickets everyday. and their boss doesn’t seem to want to add more people to lighten their load. (sinusulit)
———————–
@Sir Yuga,
Aside from those criteria that you mentioned, maybe you might wanna include “Work Toxicity” to rank the companies.
As there really are companies who makes their employees work for every centavo they are paid for, even if the base pay isn’t really something to brag about(sinusulit).
Every employer should realize that there should be work-life-balance, in some companies, there’s only work-work balance.
What I mean is, in some companies, they make it hard for their employees to take a leave from work. They reason out that the others left at the office would have to work double-time when someone takes a leave… and that shouldn’t be the case.
Companies that I know of who are like that, are those BPOs (read: call centers who hires people not to take in calls, but to work for IT outsourcing jobs)
“Work Toxicity†sir d ata pwede yan , pag na badmouth yun company baka gulo yan .
I agree with ICE. I think it would not be good to consider “work toxicity” kasi di sya pedeng i-evaluate and then i-generalize sa isang company. Like for IT outsourcing companies (e.g. IBM, Accenture, HP) may account or project na toxic ang work meron naman sakto lang depending on the client. With this, it is expected to have different feedback from employees who are part of the same company but different account or project. Work toxicity is not comparable to compensation and benefits which are standard for each company.
Hi deltek girl,
Is it too much to ask if you can refer me to an IT position on deltek?
if there’s a position with a fixed mon-fri schedule in deltek, i would obliged to apply.
would that be ok? tell me where can I send my CV, thanks!
I work with Emerson and I should say it’s one of the best multinational companies around. Sobrang hirap makapasok if you are into IT. In my experience, I had a total of 8 screenings. They invest on their employees by sending them to trainings, ikaw na mismo ang aayaw minsan sa sobrang gusto nilang ipadala ka for training. Pay, very good. Benefits, good but not much for the HMO. Lalo na kung Single ka. Environment is ok, family-oriented sila. One not-so-good about the company is that they may be VERY stable, pero they observe cost-cutting once in a while (which is normal for other US-based corps.)
and di tinitipid ang mga events and employees.
they help yung mga employees na affected ng mga calamities (not just loans). Yung mga ginagamit na tools sa work hindi rin tinitipid. they always send their employees to trainings, not only technical pati softskills improvement din.
Volenday, Inc.
150k for Mid-Sr Level Java Developers.
*HMO
*Pizza Fridays
*Flexible schedule
*Monthly Teambuilding activities like movies
etc
Do you have opening for QA position? thanks!
do you have an entry level position opening for Java developers?
Deltek Systems Philippines – The only company from the Philippines that is awarded as Best Employer Brand for 2012.

Hi tirador,
I just sent you an e-mail that includes my updated CV. I believe you have a thread on pinoyexchange regarding job openings on deltek. I was hoping you can refer me.
Thank you.
Hi!
How about Japanese IT companies like Advanced World Solutions Inc. and J-Sys Philippines?
Any feedback on them, please? :)
I nominate FactSet. It is included in the Fortune 100 companies and has an office here in McKinley. Been working here for 8 months and I must say I have grown a lot technically. People here are also friendly and accommodating. These includes bosses from US, UK, and India. Compensation is very competitive. We can work from home once a week. I just love this company and I think I’m gonna stay here in the long run.
Hi Basti, just let me correct your statement. Factset is not a Fortune 100 company. I believe what you are trying to say is that it is one of FORTUNE’s “100 Best Companies to Work For”. When you said Fortune 100 companies, they are the top 100 biggest companies in US based on gross revenue. Factset is not even part of Fortune 500. But I have a friend who worked there before and based on her story, I can say that it deserves to be part of that Fortune ranking. I just declined Factset’s offer as I found it not as competitive as my previous job:)
You my consider Safeway Philtech inc or a.k.a Safeway Manila located in RCBC tower Makati and McKinley hill taguig… Stability is one of the asset of the company when global recession is happening and other I.t. companies are laying off their employees Safeway Philtech is hiring more employees that time and expanding… Second is the working environment is well fine and lastly benefits and salar good…
Sir Yuga please include the stability of the company in your criteria… I think it’s more important of all..

For people wanting to get into IT-Sales (Hardware or Software), top firms will include Microsoft (highest pay from what I know), HP Philippines (Enterprise Group), Oracle (DB and Hardware) and SAP (ERP Systems, BI Solutions). These companies are the top vendors in the country today. THey are offering top packages (basic, reimbursements and comissions) but take into consideration that this is a numbers game. You have to deliver what is ask from you in a sales perspective. IBM Philippines will give you all the learnings and the connections you need. As for technical learnings, not a reliable person since I do the sales part.
At the end of the day, deliver your number and you get rewarded. Flexitime but often times, you got to work outside of office hours.
Chikka – perfect work and life balance. Chill lang ang environment. Madaming pakulo ang HR (parties, monthly assemblies, contests and tourneys etc). Competitive salary esp for fresh grads. Semi-flex work hours.
Agree, i think accenture doesn’t pay very well too. the Benifits i heard is good but pay is not.
You guys should list the starting wages of these companies. As far as i know Accenture doesn’t pay very well. I think starting is only 20k a month
No idea what the average person there makes.
Worked in HP for 3 years after finishing college. Here’s my feedback.
Compensation:
– Good starting pay
– You enjoy being in a full time position from day 1 (no 6 month evaluation).
Perks and incentives:
– Taxi reimbursement for mid/night shift
– Flexible allowance for clothes, rice, meds, etc.
– Free gym membership at Gold’s (limited slots)
– Free coffee
Flexibility:
– Work from home days (usually 2 days a week)
– You’re issued a company laptop so it’s more flexible to work remotely in cases of emergencies.
Employee Enhancement Programs:
– You can take Project Management, Technical certifications/trainings that is company sponsored (usually is vested depending on the cost)
– Good amount of knowledge resource since you have access to the global network.
Office environment:
– Vibrant office environment since most of the employees are under 30y/o and the age gap is not that big.
– Culture is very Western, you can address the head of HP Philippines or your own manager by first name (without the sir/mam) and it’s totally normal.
I worked under the SAP group and took on an implementation role. The good thing about this is that you’re involved directly with the client (especially for implementation projects), helps a lot in building the non-technical/soft skills like communication, project, and time management.
All I can say is that HP helped me a lot in my career and never regretted my decision to work there after college.
NetworkLabs in UP-AyalaLand Technohub, QC.
Just because we have an almost Google-like office (except for the slides). The whole office is very laid back. Technohub is like Nuvali, so outside is very much like a park. Inside, there are company provided Xbox 360s and karaoke machines. There are also golf courses in the floor and free coffee. The office is very well designed with different themes coming from the Philippines and Finland (it is an R&D subsidiary of Nokia Siemens Networks)
Monetary compensation is average though, I think.
HP in Global City
You mentioned Novare as a top IT company to work for? Not sure where did you get the idea. But for the average software engineer, QA, PM, BA, operations guy, not even close. Compensation for software engineers of all level is just industry average, Perks: no bonus, no free meals, or anything else. Even coffee, kanya kanya bili. Standard HMO lang. Flexibility? no work from home. OT almost everyday. Depending on the projects, the dev team even have work on weekends. Office environment? The development office is in the building basement! Your only chance of seeing daylight is in the morning (going to the office, and lunchbreak).
Knowing one or two great people who work for Novare doesn’t make it best.
Didn’t say they’re on the top. What we said they are on the shortlist of what we’re looking and evaluating. The reason why we also asked readers to give feedback is that we will use your feedback to rate the nominees. Your feedback will be used to either include them or drop them on the list.
Guys,
May marerecommend ba kayong company for a cobol systems analyst with 6 years experience?
Deltek (Systems) Philippines Ltd.
If you are worthy enough, they will surely give your asking salary.
The benefits we are enjoying right now (applied to all employees, commence on your start date and not after you have been a regular employee):
(1) Life Insurance
(2) HMO (with 2 dependents and no participation fee for both of them – can be parents for single)
(3) 14th Month Pay
(4) Longevity Pay
(5) Quarterly Bonus
(6) All kinds of Allowances that you can think of (included in your pay and no receipts needed): Rice Allowance, Transportation Allowance, Laundry Allowance, Clothing Allowance)
(7) Night Differential (15%)
(8) Overtime Pay (with transportation and hardship allowance; you can still have OT Pay even working from home)
(9) Work from Home/Offset/Flexible Hours
(10) 15 VLs / 15 SLs (if unused converted to cash)
(11) Shuttle Service for Midshift/Night Shift

Hi deltek girl,
Accenture
Fresh Grad No experience I think is = 18K today 20K kasama na mga benefits
With 2 – 3 years experience = 30K – 50K Max
2 – 3 years experience rare skills (TIBCO, SAP) = 30 – 60K Max
4yrs – up – Di ko na alam….
the reason why the basic for the fresh grad is 18k is due to the medical allowance that was distributed on a monthly basis.
dati merong 14th sa acn, pero now it was also distributed sa basic mo, lol
kunyari malaki na basic mo.
ACS love ur own lol! Im working from home 5days a week.. :)
just wondering how would you define the salary bracket for:
-competitive compensation =
-high salary pay =
-makunat/kuripot pay =
figures please! :)
Yup, figures please!
Macquarie has the best compensation from what I’ve heard first hand, they offered to pay hotel accommodations of their employees during the habagat tragedy. Yep, you heard it right, a hotel in the business district in makati, +5k shopping allowance, +many more…. DAMN!
Yes that will be correct.. more on overall stats of the company.
Trainings-
Pay/Incentives-
Work stability and culture-
In any order please..
by the way, maganda talaga sa Macquarie, sobrang hirap nga lang makapasok
Also, JPMorgan, over-all maganda pero kung IT Infra support ka, this is just my opinion, boring ang work environment
Hi Everyone,
How about Chevron Shared Services, I heard 90% ng IT positions nila ay fixed shift, (8AM-5PM) I want to confirm because I’m done with a shifting schedule, nakakapagod na..
Thank you!
Accenture.. Lots of great people developer there… :)
ACN has no standard for fresh grad haha bsta okie grade mo pasok ka
These companies mentioned here hires IT staff to work as their own company IT, or to support external clients.
1. Philip Morris in Makati, coz they have one of the best trainings there is, when it comes to training IT staffs.
They send them to Australia or wherever it is abroad for 5 months training, and then the employees have lots of other bonuses and perks.
May car plan pa sa ibang IT positions.
————————-
2. HP Philippines in Makati, they have taxi reimbursements everyday, one way lang yun, may IT certifications for free, meron mga things na pwede mong i-reimburse, like medicines, clothing, prescription eye glasses, rice, except shoes.
meron din work from home, especially noong bagyo, coz employees are issued with laptops.
you can move from one IT specialization to another, (i.e. Windows servers to Unix or to SAP or Network), So in a way, marami kang matututunan, all within the company.
Promotion is fast, very nice office, may free coffee LOL…
Non-BPO kind of management…
Yun bang nde toxic at para kang sinasakal.
at andaming bawal.
Wala nga lang sleep rooms.
——————–
3. Fujitsu in The Fort Taguig.
They don’t offer much, except for the basic shit like Salary, Pag-ibig, SSS, Medicard. Maliit ang office, cramped ang work stations,
Anliliit ng lockers, nde nga kasya yung isang regular sized backpack eh.
——————–
4. Macquarie, I don’t much about them, except na masyado silang choosy sa pagpili ng employees.
——————–
5. Deltek in Makati seems ok, mahirap daw makapasok, andaming exams & interviews.
———————
6. United Health Group in Mc.Kinley hills Taguig, seems ok, as per a friend of mine, meron din silang free IT certifications na binibigay, mataas ang standards nila pagdating sa background ng IT employees nila… yun lang alam ko… LOL.
———————
7. Accenture is one of the most makunat, kuripot, toxic, if not the most makunat, kuripot at toxic na company to work for.
Mababa sila magpasahod compared sa ibang companies na IT ang work, and call center na call center yung style ng management nila (if you know what I mean).
————————
8. Merlin in Mc.kinley hills Taguig, is also good. They have a really good compensation package, and their IT employees really get hands-on experience, talagang hardcore IT stuff ang work doon!
All these statements were gathered from the experiences of those whom I know who have worked for or is currently with the above-mentioned companies.
Very insightful post. I’m a fresh graduate, and I’ve been contemplating where to work (my first work). So saktong sakto ung article na toh.
Anything about Indra Philippines? or i-Bridge Philippines?
Kahit hindi naman kasi mataas ung pay, basta may may work-life balance, atsaka hindi toxic ung work environment. and from what I’ve heard avout accenture. tama ka :))
Hi..
Dont really know what you mean, with regards to Accenture’s management style.. Appreciate it if you could enlighten me. :)
Kung matanggap ka, you might find out it is not as toxic as you’ve heard other people say… :)
I agree with you about Accenture. IBM, which is Accenture’s rival, is also makunat and Kuripot.
at kuripot… toxic…
Intel Philippines is the best! nothing compares!
-High salary pay
-Awesome Work life balance
-1Million HMO medical
-Super Bonuses (company bonuses)
-stocks
-walang tatalo sa lahat!

Deltek Systems (Philippines)
Yes, I agree. Deltek Systems Philippines!
Hi Lando, nag-aacept ba sila ng OJT? I am looking for an IT company na may carrer growth ako para di ako mahirapan mag-apply for work after graduation. I would really appreciate all the help you can give. Many thanks
CHAMP Cargosystems
Flexi working hours (12:01pm is late).
Competitive salary.
Nice working environment.
The thing I like here most is work-life balance. Uwi talaga kami after 8 hours. :)
Super bihira ang OT :)
Accenture – Mga may asawa at anak maganda ang maxicare card nila. Believe me!
Pay – 13th and 14th Month pay, health bonus, Local Variable Pay, christmas bonus, medical allowance
at kung ano ano pa… tinatamad na ako mag type. Nagtrabaho na ako jan pero nagsisi ako. Accenture is not for fresh grads, lalo na kung CS or IT grad ka. itatapon ka na lang nila kung saan ang may kelangan na position.
Good luck sir!
Don’t get me wrong!
Yearly may increase. from 16K na sweldo ko umabot ng 26K after a year.
For fresh grads..
If you’re not into managerial or administrative work then don’t ever apply at Accenture…
I’ve been a victim and is still suffering as of this writing.
I’m a technical guy and I’m not getting the right job experience. They trained me as a PeopleSoft resource pero for the past 2 years kong nag work , wala akong ginawa kung di mga SQL scripts…
Ni hindi ako makapag apply sa ibang company as PeopleSoft Consultant kasi I lack experience sa PeopleSoft development.
I tried to work this issues with them, tried to ask for a re-tool, roll off for more than a year na pero walang ngyayari… Lagi na lang reason un “business need”…
The “charging” system sucks…
They don’t really know how to handle their resources well.
Yun yung risky sa ACN, di nakakapili ng capability pag entry level/fresh grad since it depends on the demand unlike sa ibang company, alam mo na agad kung san ka mapupunta say Java, Oracle, SAP, etc. kahit aplikante ka pa lang. Though marami na kong narefer sa ACN pero I informed them beforehand about this case. Yun nga lang, I just left the company for the reason that I would like to shift from outsourcing to inhouse IT.
