Nothing Teases First Over-Ear Headphones, Aims to Undercut AirPods Max

Listen to article

London-based tech company Nothing has officially announced its entry into the over-ear headphone market, revealing plans for its first wireless Bluetooth headphones. The announcement was made through a nearly four-minute video featuring the company’s design team discussing their vision for the upcoming product.

While the official name and pricing details remain under wraps, the design team emphasized their goal of offering a premium audio experience at a more accessible price point compared to competitors like Apple’s $549 AirPods Max. Hints in the video suggest a potential price around $275, aiming to deliver high-quality sound without the premium price tag.

The designers also highlighted their focus on user-friendly controls, addressing common issues with indistinct buttons on existing headphones. Nothing plans to implement distinct button designs to enhance usability and prevent user errors.

This move follows Nothing’s recent partnership with British hi-fi brand KEF, signaling the company’s commitment to high-quality audio products. The over-ear headphones are slated for a summer release, and while still in development, early impressions suggest they could be strong contenders in the high-end headphone market.

Given Nothing’s track record with products like the Ear (a) earbuds, which received positive reviews for their performance and affordability, the upcoming headphones are highly anticipated by both fans and audiophiles.

Stay tuned for more updates as Nothing prepares to unveil its latest addition to the audio lineup.

Nope, no way no how. Ridiculous. No non audiophile headphones are worth this amount of money, this is just a status symbol and I thought nothing was against this. Now nothing is becoming another brand built in China overcharging for plastic products like pharmaceuticals. They aren’t reinventing the wheel here.
