OpenAI is reportedly planning to integrate its AI video generation model Sora directly into ChatGPT.

According to a report from The Information, ChatGPT will soon have Sora integrated.
Sora currently exists as a standalone app that lets users create short videos from text prompts.
However, interest in the app has declined since its launch in 2025. Downloads and spending fall as the app drops out of the top rankings in Apple’s U.S. App Store.
By adding Sora to ChatGPT, OpenAI aims to expose the video generation tool to a much larger audience.
ChatGPT already has hundreds of millions of users and reported around 900 million weekly active users in February.
The integration would allow users to generate videos directly inside ChatGPT similar to how the platform already supports image generation and other multimodal tools.
The standalone Sora app is expected to remain available even after the integration.
