Qualcomm announces Snapdragon 7s Gen 3

Qualcomm has officially announced its Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, a new addition to the ā€œsā€ series, built on a 4nm process. It packs the Kryo CPU with one Prime core clocked at 2.5GHz, three performance cores at up to 2.4GHz, and four efficiency cores reaching up to 1.8GHz clock speeds.

According to Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 delivers nearly 20% boost in CPU performance and a 40% faster graphics processing as compared to last year’s 7s Gen 2.

The new chip also brings over 30% better AI performance and 12% overall power savings. Speaking of AI, it boasts an AI Engine-dedicated NPU enabling on-device generative AI features such as AI noise cancellation or noise reduction.

Other highlights include up to 16GB onboard RAM support and UFS 3.1 storage; up to 200MP photo capture and 4K HDR videos; up to Full HD+ display at 144Hz; and 5G capability.

This chip sits underneath the standard Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 and at the top of the series is the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3. Visit Qualcomm’s website 10 for the full technical specs.

The company confirmed that Xiaomi will be the first to adopt the latest chip with a new smartphone launch next month.
