During the Meta Connect, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg introduced the second-generation collection of Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses.
Meta 187, in collaboration with EssilorLuxottica, says it has redesigned the Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses from the ground up—enhancing all the key features of the first generation and introducing unprecedented capabilities.
One standout feature of these smart glasses is capability to livestream video directly to Instagram and Facebook.
It features a 12MP ultra-wide camera for this purpose, capable of recording 1080p videos up to 60 seconds.
To ensure transparency and respect for privacy, these glasses have a white courtesy light on the outside. Which alerts passersby that they are being recorded.
The smart glasses boast a 32GB of internal storage, allowing users to store approximately 500 photos and 100+ 30-second videos.
The Meta View app seamlessly syncs all recorded content, enabling easy sharing across various apps.
With a 50% increase in volume compared to the previous generation, these glasses offer improved clarity and deeper bass.
Meta has even integrated directional audio technology, which minimizes audio leakage and enhances the immersion for an unparalleled listening experience.
The smart glasses’ charging now weighs 32% less than its previous version. It delivers up to eight charges, resulting in a total battery life of 36 hours. Recharging the case is as effortless as plugging in a USB-C cable.
