Listen to article

MediaTek has officially unveiled the Dimensity 8400, marking a new milestone for upper-midrange Android chipsets. This SoC features an all-big-core CPU architecture, a strategy first introduced with the high-end Dimensity 9300 last year.

Redmi Turbo 4 Launches First with Dimensity 8400

The Redmi Turbo 4 will be the first smartphone powered by the new Dimensity 8400-Ultra, a customized version of the chip designed specifically for Xiaomi.

Set to launch in early January 2025, blind pre-reservations for the phone have already begun in China.

Globally, the Redmi Turbo 4 is rumored to debut under the Poco branding, possibly as the Poco F7 or Poco X7 Pro.

While the exact name is still uncertain, Xiaomi fans outside of China can expect to experience this performance-oriented device soon.

With its all-big-core CPU architecture, the Dimensity 8400 aims to disrupt the upper-midrange segment, directly challenging the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3. Enhanced performance and efficiency promise to redefine expectations for midrange devices.

Are you excited to see the Redmi Turbo 4 or its Poco counterpart?
