Huawei P30 Pro users have reported issues when using Google Pay on their phones. Upon further inspection, it was found that the devices were failing SafetyNet, the Google service that checks whether or not a device is running genuine, certified software.
Not having access to Google Pay means that Google will deny you access to apps that use that service (like Netflix, for example).

Paul O’Brien of MoDaCo first reported the issue saying that his unmodified Huawei P30 Pro had no issues before, but now fails the SafetyNet test. It seems that the problem doesn’t affect all users, though. Some users said that they passed the SafetyNet test even though they were running on the same version as Paul.

After being noted of the issue, Android Authority reached out to Huawei, and they confirmed that some P30 Pro devices are failing the SafetyNet test. According to Huawei, this issue affects phones running on the Android10-based EMUI 10 beta software that was available since August. Huawei also said that the problems are on Google’s side, saying that Google took away the certification on Huawei’s global EMUI 10 beta version.
According to Android Authority’s testing, EMUI 10 build numbers 10.0.0.42 and 10.0.0.0 both failed the test. The latest software update EMUI 10.0.0.153, however, can pass the SafetyNet test.
As a solution, users may opt to either update to the latest build 10.0.0.153 if available on their device, or roll back to EMUI 9.1. Huawei also confirms that this is a temporary problem and shouldn’t take too long to fix since Google already certified the P30 Pro and is only waiting for the stable updates to be released.
I tried this to my Huawei Mate 20, and it called the Safety net yet as well. I am running EMUI 9.1 :(
Has anyone tried to claim the “special warranty program” offered by Huawei’s local dealers? The one where they assure you that apps will keep working on their phone, or they give you your money back?
