Spotify is getting a price hike in the Philippines

Listen to article

Spotify has confirmed the arrival of price hikes for Premium users in the Philippines via a newsroom post.

Over the course of next month, emails should be reaching Premium users in the country. This will inform them of the price increase from PHP 149 to PHP 169 per month.

In their notice, Spotify says that the price increase is occurring globally. It affects subscribers across South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Latin America, and the Asia-Pacific region.

The company added that this is in line with their commitment to deliver world-class, personalized experiences for every user. They explain that the pricing update is meant to be poured into more innovations, product offerings, and new features.

This news seems to have affected the company well, as their shares rose by 3 percent following their announcement. At the time of writing, Spotify Premium in the Philippines still remains at PHP 149.

We’ll update readers should more changes arrive.
