Vivo is set to release its first-ever flip-style foldable phone, which has been generating quite a buzz in the tech world recently. The phone has received Google Play certification, which has confirmed its name as the Vivo X Flip. As per Vivo’s naming convention, this new foldable will sit alongside the X Fold line of foldable devices. Competing with Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip4 and Oppo’s Find N2 Flip, the Vivo X Flip is expected to make waves in the market.
The Vivo X Flip has recently been spotted on the Geekbench online database, revealing that it will run on the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, paired with 12GB of RAM. The device will also support 44W fast charging, according to its recent 3C certification.
Reports suggest that the Vivo X Flip will feature a 6.8-inch FHD+ 120Hz internal screen, a 50 MP primary camera, a 12 MP ultrawide lens, and a 4,400mAh battery. If rumors are to be believed, the phone is set to launch in China sometime in April.
It’s worth noting that the Vivo X Flip is not the only foldable device that Vivo is set to launch in the near future. The company’s X Fold2, a book-style foldable, has also been making the rounds online. The device is rumored to have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage, and a 120Hz-capable display. It’s also expected to pack a 4,800mAh battery with 120W wired and 50W wireless charging, along with a 50MP IMX866 primary camera and two 12MP IMX663 sensors for the ultrawide and zoom cameras. While the exact launch dates for both devices are not yet confirmed, they are expected to debut sometime in April.
