ARM has just announced three chipsets: the small Cortex-A520, medium Cortex-A720, and the Cortex-X4 – the big chip.

ARM’s Cortex-X4 plans to tackle 15% higher performance than their X3 as they have dubbed this as their fastest CPU core with clock speeds of 3.4GHz.

Even more than the A700 cores before it, the Cortex-A720 was designed for efficiency. It contains five A720 cores and is 20% more efficient than the A715, which will efficiently handle a lot of the labor-intensive tasks for multi-threaded programs.

The Cortex-A520 is designed to split execution units among two cores in order to utilize the least amount of silicon possible. The design also sought to increase the A520’s efficiency by 22% over the A510. These will typically concentrate on assisting high-end chipsets.

Additionally, ARM revealed the G720, a second-generation Immortalis GPU designed for high-end devices. The new Mali-G720 and Mali-G620 are high-end and mid-range processors, respectively. These three GPUs are called the “5th Gen”.

The next CPU and GPU from ARM are anticipated to debut later this year and in the first quarter of 2024.
