HP Slate 7 lands for Php7,990

Listen to article

Announced back in February, the Android-powered HP Slate 7 finally arrives in local stores with a suggested retail price of Php7,990.

HP is quite late in the Android market primarily because they’ve initially invested in their own platform, WebOS. They’ve moved on and tried Windows 8 and Android in their tablet line-up.

The latest and most affordable one yet is the HP Slate 7. It’s a basic tablet, one that does not inspire any excitement.

HP Slate 7 specs:
7-inch LCD display @ 1024×600 pixels
ARM A9 1.6GHz dual-core processor
1GB RAM
8GB internal storage
up to 32GB via microSD
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
Bluetooth 2.1 w/ EDR
3MP rear camera
VGA front-facing camera
Beats Audio
Lithium-ion 2,000mAh battery
Android 4.1 Jellybean

HP promises up to 5 hours of video playback on the Slate 7. The device is listed over at VillMan with a retail price of Php7,990.

low price and better than acer b1-a71. okay na rin kumpara sa china made tablets may beats audio naman kasama…if you wait for nexus 7 malamang doble presyo nun dito around 13k sa 32gb model, di naman majority ng pinoy eh may pera pambili ng Nexus 7…regarding the shipping mas maganda locally mo bilhin para pag nasira mas priority ka ng asus service center..

hmmp!!! late na naman ang HP. for almost the same price you can get a quad core version from a reputable brand.

In all fairness, this is a Rockchip-Mali400mp device (roughly equivalent to a Mediatek 1.2 quad) so this device will have no problem handling all the latest games out there

Price point is good, the only letdown is the screen resolution

With the new Google Nexus 7, HP faces an uphill battle with this tablet. It’s got nothing new or impressive to offer. But it’s still a decent tablet for its price I guess. I had an HP laptop once and it only gave me problems. :( Please update us with the new Nexus 7, most especially the shipping part. How can we get gadgets from the US with reasonable shipping fees and without getting exorbitant fees from Fed Ex or custom?

Hate HP. Hated them with a vengeance since the 2008 nVidia debaucle. This tablet…is tempting. But still, looking at stats alone, there’s nothing the Slate does that the MemoPad can’t do for cheaper.
