Mineski.Infinity suffers crushing defeat at DoTA 2

Representing the Philippines in “The International” DoTA 2 Tournament is team Mineski.Infinity which started last August 17 and ends today.

We were rooting for them all week and was glued on the DoTA2 livestream and YouTube replays for the group matches.

Unfortunately, our DoTA 2 flag carrier weren’t strong enough to advance even to the semis and bring home any prize (champion gets $1 million while 8th place gets $25,000).

Mineski.Infinity didn’t had a good start with 0 wins a 3 loses at the initial Group Stage. They proceeded to the Bracket Stage (under Losers Bracket) with a surprise win over OK.Nirvana.CN (one of 4 teams from China) in Round 1. They then fought off in Round 2 against Russian team M5 (Moscow Five) to no avail, eventually being eliminated from the tournament at this point.

Here’s a replay of their winning match against OK.Nirvana.CN:

Mineski.Infinity went home with a final score of 1 win and 4 loses, ranking between 9th to 12th of the 16-team tournament.

The championship will be played today between Na`Vi of Ukraine and the winner of the Losers Bracket (either EHOME of China or Scythe.SG of Singapore).

  1. Lakas ng scythe. Dominate nila MYM which is one of the top dota teams.

  5. They were left in the dust in terms of strategy.

You can even see that kind of gameplay on garena Phil servers.

  6. It shows the elaborate strategies and execution of well-practiced PROFESSIONAL teams. Individually mineski might have some of the best players in asia but they still have a lot to learn with respect to team play, which showed when M5 shut them down.

I’m not telling na di magaling mineski.infinity, my point if we are serious about this, then we must have a tournament or contest nationwide to create a team which will represent the Phils. in this kind of tournament and they should enhanced their skills to be ‘the best of the best’ DoTA players in the country.

  10. i agree to what Yusuke said…

  11. fail talaga ang mineski in this tourna..according to them, they only had 4 days of preparation for DotA2..tapos lag pa daw..well, i know excuses lang yun and sobrang lakas din talaga ng kalaban..

they had a good come back in the recent tournament in SG though..pero regionals lang yun..magkakalaman na sa international level.

  12. @Yusuke: ang mga tambay walang pambayad sa comp shop.pano sila magppractice? yung mga may pera talaga ang may advantage dito..they can roam around the Philippines para makipagpustahan and gain experience.. and..sila palagi ang champion sa kahit anong tournament..kaya it wont make a difference kung magpapatourna pa for this event..

Sila rhorho kaya ok yung experience, kascrim nila mga taga Malaysia, China etc..and fyi..hindi lahat ng mineski mayaman..btw I’m not a fan of Mineski..I used to support team Flow..yung iba sa kanila Duskbin na ngayon (but they shifted to HoN)

  13. Although it was a crushing defeat in the 1st International Dota 2 tournament, there is a big chance another Pinoy team will compete next year.
