Qualcomm announced an event on March 18 to be held in China, introducing a new Snapdragon chipset.

This is rumored to be the flagship Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 (SM8635) SoC, slated to have a similar design to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 inclusive of a Cortex-X4 core.

The chipset is said to have an octa-core processor running on one Cortex-X4 at 3.01GHz, four Cortex-A720 cores at 2.61GHz, and three Cortex-A520 cores at 1.84GHz. Additionally, it is assumed to run on the Adreno 735 GPU.

Here is a cropped version of the teaser provided by Qualcomm for their upcoming launch event.

Qualcomm is also expected to introduce the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 (SM7675) at the event. It is also believed to use a similar design, but with different clock speeds.

This will consist of one Cortex-X4 at 2.9GHz, four Cortex-A720 cores at 2.61GHz, and three Cortex-A520 cores at 1.9GHz. For graphics, it is presumed to run on an Adreno 732 GPU.

This is a developing story, but we’ll provide more details when available on or before the launch date of the new chipset.
