Western Digital announces two new portable SSDs

Western Digital has announced two new portable SSDs aimed at photographers and drone enthusiasts who require durable and high-performance media capture solutions – the My Passport Wireless SSD and SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD.

First up is the My Passport Wireless SSD, which, as the name suggests, allows you to wirelessly transfer files via WiFi 802.11ac/n. It has a built-in SD 3.0 card reader and USB 2.0 port with one-touch copy button, RAW file preview support, 6,700mAh with battery with power bank function, 4K streaming support, and a protective bumper that can survive 1-meter drops.

The My Passport Wireless SSD comes in 250GB ($229.99), 500GB ($299.99), 1TB ($499.99), and 2TB ($799.99) capacities.

Next is the SanDisk Extreme SSD with a rugged exterior. It is shock and vibration-resistant, IP55-certified water and dust resistant, sports a USB 3.1 (Gen 2) interface, and boasts read speeds of up to 550MB/s.

The SanDisk Extreme SSD comes in 250GB ($99.99), 500GB ($169.99), 1TB ($349.99), and 2TB ($699.99) capacities.
