Canon’s new EOS line-up has just been announced – the Canon EOS 600D with an 18-megapixel sensor, full HD 1080p video recording and a built-in wireless flash control (finally!).

A new kit lens will also come with the 600D — EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II. Expected release date is in April 2011 with a possible suggested retail price of €729 (~Php43,300) for body only and €829 (~Php49,300) with kit included.
I’ve been waiting for this for a loooooooong time! I’m so excited it’s finally here! Can’t wait to get my hands on it! =)
Hmm better buy a 550d and invest in lenses. flash control lang yung bago dito eh.

@lou, the intended competitor to the 600D won’t be the D7000, but perhaps the upcoming D5xxx (or may be not – the 600D may trump over this offering). It’s 60D vs D7000.
@Jonaflormicfren, the improvements over the 600D are not exactly “new” so to say. Ergo, it is not innovative – just something nice and a very welcome addition to the line up.

i planned to upgrade to EOS550D in preparation for my project in school…looks like i’ll have to wait until mid year for more ^_^

oh well i just bought a 550D two months ago…
Sensor resolution isn’t everything unless you are going to create a billboard out of your shots or something. I am more interested in low light performance among other things and will be glad to wait for reviews. (I already had my sights set on getting a DSLR with a full frame sensor though).
