Yesterday, Adobe has announced Generative Recolor – a generative AI recolor feature that’s able to change colors, themes and fonts of graphics for Illustrator.

Adobe Illustrator Generative Ai

The Generative Recolor tool uses text prompts to change colors, themes and fonts of illustrations made by the users. This is the latest addition to Adobe’s multiple generative AI tools and models.

Generative Recolor creates a depiction of a scene or a theme using Firefly based on textual input. Then, based on the user’s requested mood or theme, it applies the color palettes it has extracted from that image to the user’s graphic.

“We actually think that all content will be in some shape or form, edited through generative fashions in the near future,” said vice president of generative AI at Adobe Alexandru Costin.

A beta version of Generative Recolor is now available for Adobe Illustrator. There is currently no official release date for the Generative Recolor feature.

In order to increase its inventory, Adobe also wants to keep integrating data from Adobe Stock and develop models for 3D and video creation. “Creatives are not going to be replaced by AI. They are going to be competing with creatives using AI,” says Costin.
