Google unveils tech capable of reading your doctor’s handwriting

Google on Monday has showcased an AI that can read texts on handwritten medical prescriptions.

According to the search giant, they are closely working with pharmacists in building an assistive model to digitize such documents and decipher it using AI.

“This will act as an assistive technology for digitizing handwritten medical documents by augmenting the humans in the loop such as pharmacists, however no decision will be made solely based on the output provided by this technology,” Google told TechCrunch in a statement.

Google also tweeted a demonstration of the feature, which is very simple, as if you’re just using Google Lens. See the demo below.

It may be already looking solid, but it is still a research prototype and Google has not yet committed launching it publicly.
