Google has just revealed that it has now updated the design of the Android logo to be more modern as reported by 9to5Google.
The most obvious change comes in the fact that Google has now shifted to a more 3D representation of both its wordmark and Android robot following this trend.

Moreover, they also switched from using a lowercase “a” to now using an uppercase “A” in their new redesign, as well as slightly modifying both the letters “n” and “r” to be more rounded.
This is quite a departure from recent design trends where most companies tend to shift towards flat, minimalistic designs for their logos.

The new logo also made an appearance at the end of a recent video by Android on App Safety.
Google also confirmed to 9to5Google that they will soon be showcasing some elements of their “new brand identity” in the coming months.
