Google seeds Android 5.1.1 for Cherry Mobile One and MyPhone Uno

Google has started seeding Android 5.1.1 for Android One smartphones which includes the Cherry Mobile One and the MyPhone Uno.

Android Authority has a list of Android 5.1.1 OTA Build links for Android One devices including the Cherry Mobile One and the MyPhone Uno. The links though are for downloadable ZIP files that need to be flashed on your Android One phone.

If you know how to flash the files on your device (and are aware of the risks involved when not done properly) you can download the update via the links above. Otherwise, just wait for the device to notify you of the update or you can manually check by going to Settings –> About Phone –> System Updates.

In the meantime, you can read our review of the Cherry Mobile One and the MyPhone Uno via the links provided.

The Android 5.1.1 is mainly a bug-fix update, bringing solutions to a range of user-reported problems, including the Nexus 5 camera issues that affected some users after the original Android 5.1 update. As always, Google hasn’t published a changelog but the update may also include the long-awaited fix for the memory leak issues that have affected devices running on Lollipop.

This Lollipop 5.1.1 update for Cherry Mobile and MyPhone AndroidOne devices has been available OTA update since June 3, 2015. Just connect to a strong internet connection, plug your device to a power source and check and install the update via Settings>About Phone>System Updates. Note that you need Internet subscription to avoid unnecessary charges on your account. No need to download those files as mentioned in this page as you may risk bricking your phone and losing its warranty when not done properly.
