Netflix Philippines’ subscription prices will hike up due to the new digital tax implemented. This change will occur on June 1, 2025.

Digital services will have increased prices soon due to the Digital Services Law signed by Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. This means that a 12% tax will be implemented for digital distribution services and the like.
Netflix has informed their Philippine users that their prices will increase. It goes as follows:
Mobile
Price: PHP 169/month (from PHP 149)
Video Quality: HD 720p
Users: 1 user at a time
Downloads: 1 device
Basic
Price: PHP 279/month (from PHP 249)
Video Quality: Up to Full HD 1080p
Users: 1 user at a time
Downloads: Up to 2 devices
Standard
Price: PHP 449/month (from PHP 399)
Video Quality: Up to Ultra HD 4K + HDR
Users: Up to 2 users at a time
Audio: Netflix Spatial Audio
Downloads: Up to 6 devices
Extras: Add 1 extra member slot for PHP 169/month
Premium
Price: PHP 619/month (from PHP 549)
Video Quality: Up to Ultra HD 4K + HDR
Users: Up to 4 users at a time

This price change will be implemented starting June 1.

It’s disappointing to see Netflix increasing prices, especially with the added burden of a new digital tax in the Philippines. This could push viewers to consider other streaming options. I hope they find a way to balance quality content with affordability for Filipino subscribers.
