A new ride-hailing app in the Philippines, Tara, has just been announced.
Its founder Erwin Dee took to Facebook 160 to share his goal in creating Tara to fill the gap that is making its fare sustainable for both riders and drivers.
According to the post, Tara’s booking fare is cheaper and in accordance with the LTFRB’s fare matrix with strictly no surcharges. It claims that users can save up to 300 pesos in most especially rush hour times and long-distance rides.
Tara is also said to impose 0% commission on its drivers which means that 100% of the fare goes to the driver.
Moreover, it plans to allocate 80% of its ad revenue towards user incentives such as promo codes and bonuses for top-performing drivers.
How Tara will work for users is through its subscription-based model with its Basic plan priced at PHP 30USD 0.51INR 43EUR 0.49CNY 4 which enables them to avail of 3 tokens enabling them to complete 3 bookings.
Its Regular tier is priced at PHP 300USD 5INR 433EUR 5CNY 37 which gives out 30 tokens for 30 bookings.
Its highest tier is its Partner tier for PHP 3,000USD 51INR 4,334EUR 49CNY 372 for 300 tokens and 300 completed bookings.
Tara will soon be available on the Apple App Store and Google Playstore soon. To stay up to date for any announcements or invite codes, you may join Tara’s official Facebook page 2.1K.
What’s unclear as of now is its availability across different regions in the country upon launching.
