Xiaomi unveils AI Coding Agent with Long-Term Memory

Listen to article

Xiaomi has open-sourced MiMo Code V0.1.0, a terminal-based AI coding assistant designed to maintain context during long software development projects.

Built on the company’s MiMo reasoning model, MiMo Code features a persistent memory system that stores and organizes project information beyond the model’s context window. A background subagent continuously summarizes conversations and decisions, helping the AI stay on track without forgetting previous work.

The assistant also includes Compose Mode, which can handle workflows from planning and coding to testing and review. Xiaomi claims MiMo Code outperforms Claude Code on key benchmarks.

Released under the MIT license, MiMo Code supports third-party AI backends and free access to MiMo-V2.5.
