Zoom, the video conferencing platform, has recently announced the temporary lift of the 40-minute limit for all meetings globally on Thanksgiving Day. The initiative aims to catch up and hang out longer virtually with other people, including family and friends, during the US holiday.

As posted on its official Twitter account, the video conferencing platform will be lifting its standard 40-minute limit on all meetings globally from 12 midnight on November 26 until November 27 at 6 AM on Eastern Time. In the Philippines, the lift runs from November 26 at 1 PM to November 27 at 7 PM.

Thanksgiving Day is a federal holiday celebrated in the United States on the fourth Thursday in November.

Previously, the 40-minute limit has been one of the key limitations of the platform’s Basic plan throughout the pandemic, forcing groups to restart a chat after the time limit.
