Facebook together with Ray-Ban has just launched Ray-Ban Stories, a new line of smart sunglasses that can capture photos and video. Built in partnership with Facebook and EssilorLuxottica, Ray-Ban Stories are smart glasses that not only allow you to take photos or video, but also allow you to listen to music or even take phone calls. The Facebook View app on iOS and Android allows you to import, edit, and share content captured on the smart glasses to an app on a smartphone such as Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, Twitter, TikTok, Snapchat, and more. Meta is reportedly preparing to launch new Ray-Ban smart glasses designed for people who wear prescription lenses, according to recent reports. While current Ray-Ban smart glasses already allow prescription lenses, these new versions are said to be built specifically for that purpose. A new Android app called Nearby Glasses alerts users if someone nearby may be wearing smart glasses that can record video. If it detects a signal linked to companies known for smart glasses, the app sends an alert to the user. Jeanrenaud said he created the app after reading reports about smart glasses being used in situations such as immigration raids and harassment cases.
