Nokia Philippines will have a media launch for the Nokia N8 on October 15 and has also opened pre-orders for their flagship smartphone, the Nokia N8. Last week, I asked readers if they're buying the Nokia N8 when it comes out. The Nokia N8 has started shipping in other countries and though there's no specific date for local release, Nokia Philippines has put up an email alert for those interested to get the news as soon as it's out. The Nokia N8 is supposed to revive Nokia's strength in the smartphone market and the upcoming release will finally hand down the verdict. Much of the reception will ultimately be based on how much the retail price will be once the Nokia N8 arrives in the country. Based on ad bookings by Nokia to promote the N8, we estimate the release date will be last week of October to 1st week of November.
