Samsung has officially announced it's new flagship SoC for mobile devices, and the company's first premium 5G-integrated mobile processor built on the 5nm extreme ultra-violet (EUV) process node, the Exynos 2100. The 5nm Exynos 2100 allows up to 20-percent lower power consumption or 10% higher overall performance than the 7nm predecessor. The Exynos 2100 is an octa-core CPU that comes in an improved tri-cluster structure made up of a single ARM Cortex-X1 core that runs at up to 2.9GHz, three high-performing Cortex-A78 cores, and four power-efficient Cortex-A55 cores delivering more than 30% enhancement in multi-core performance than the predecessor. Samsung says that the Exynos 2100 is currently in mass production, but some reports say that it will appear in the upcoming Galaxy S21 series. After its event announcement of its upcoming flagship smartphone launch, Samsung will also hold a dedicated event for the newest Exynos chipset. As reported on GSMArena, it is expected that aside from the new architecture with an ARM X1 Prime @2.91GHz core, 4x Cortex-A78 @2.81GHz cores, and a cluster of 4x Cortex-A55 @2.21GHz cores, the latest chipset assumed as the Exynos 2100 will feature some improvements and additional features.
