Smart Communications, the mobile arm of PLDT, has rolled out a new feature that lets its users make video calls directly from their phones without the need for apps like Messenger, Zoom, or WhatsApp. Users can also continue browsing, streaming, or playing games while on a ViLTE call without interruptions. The browser’s main feature, GenTabs, uses a person’s open tabs and chat history to understand what they are working on, then generates mini web apps to help complete tasks like trip planning, studying, or meal planning, without needing to code.
